MHA #13- Wednesday Afternoon

Connor thought class had gone fairly well that morning, considering what dinosaur they were focusing on and all that.

So, he was feeling pretty good when he got back to his flat and got to work on the project he had set up for himself that day- continuing to go through all his stuff and sort through things and figure out what all he had and what he actually wanted or needed to keep.

As he pulled out yet another box of comics and a tote bag full of games and accessories he once again wondered how he had managed to accumulate so much stuff. He looked over at Rex who was all curled up in his favorite spot on the couch.

"Glad one of us is able to just sleep the day away, mate" he said with a laugh and a fond smile.

Connor got up and pulled another box out of the closet and then sat down in the middle of the room and started going through the contents. He had his laptop beside him and a cup of coffee. The door to the flat was open in case anyone wanted to stop by for a chat.

Cutter had a couple of reasons for wanting to stop by and yes he had seen Connor earlier that morning for class but he had had a copy of his key made to his flat and wanted to give it to Connor as well.

He knocked on the door, he knew Connor said it was usually always open but he did still feel a bit weird just barging in on Connor without knocking.

Connor turned at the sound of the knock and a grin spread over his face. "Hey Nick!" he called out from his spot on the floor, surrounded by stacks of comics and other geeky stuff. His grin widened when Rex suddenly perked up and gave a happy chirp from his spot on the couch as he poked his head out from under Connor's jacket. "Come on in!"

Cutter opened the door and stepped in, "I hope you don't mind me stopping by ..." his voice trailed off as he took in the piles of comics and other memorabilia, "what's all this?"

"Course I don't mind, Nick. Come on in" Connor said waving him in with a smile.

"Ah, just some of the stuff I've collected over the years. Figured... I should probably start whittling down the piles a bit. Don't really need 10 boxes of comics cluttering up the closet ya know?" he said with a small laugh.

"Oh?" Cutter blinked as he looked at everything, "but you love all of your comics, are you sure you want to get rid your things? I know how much they mean to you,"

Connor looked around at the piles for a moment. There were a lot of memories tied up in some of the piles.

"Can't hold onto the kiddie toys and all forever right?" he said with a somewhat forced grin. "After all," he said the smile going more genuine as he looked over at Cutter, "Gotta start focusing on the future now."

"I mean if you're sure," Cutter still looked hesitant, "is ... is this about money? If you need money, I can give you money without you parting with your things," there was a pause at the word future and he smiled softly at that, "I ...I can provide quite comfortably for us, it's no trouble at all Connor," he assured him.

Connor smiled at that for a moment, realizing he should have figured that would be his reaction. "Get over here, Nick" he said with a grin, motioning for him to come join him, wherever he could find a spot among the piles.

Cutter smiled as he carefully stepped over the different files as he joined Connor, eventually finding a spot that was empty enough to kneel down on the floor next to Connor, "you've definitely been busy haven't you? Is this what you were working on that the museum the other day?"

"It was" Connor said simply as he waited till Cutter was more or less eye level and then reached out and took his hand.

"And as far as the money thing... You are amazing and wonderful, and I have no doubts we will be fine in that regard" he said smiling fondly at Cutter. "This is just something I need to do... for me... I want to be ready to start thinking about the future... our future."

Cutter smiled softly as he took Connor’s hand, giving it a gentle squeeze of assurance as he did, “I … I do like the sound of that, our future,” his smile widened, “if … if you’re sure about this, can I do anything to help you?”

"If you want, you can help me sort through this stuff? Pack up what's going to stay so i can figure out what to do with the rest?" Connor asked with a grin as he handed a small set of comics over to Cutter.

Cutter smiled warmly at that, "I can definitely do that," he assured him and he took the small set of comics that Connor handed to him, "are these ones going or staying?"

"Those are X-Men comics. They are most definitely staying," Connor said with a grin. "This stack here can go," he said sliding a much taller stack over and grabbing an empty box for them.

Cutter smiled, “I’m glad you’re keeping these, I think I’d be really worried if you sold them,” he added as he moved the X-Men comics to a safe pile and then the taller stack of comics into the box.

“Actually before I forget I have something for you,” and then he dug into his pocket and pulled out the spare key to his flat, “this is for you, whenever you want to stop by,”

Since they lived so far away from each other and all.

"Oh, right the keys" Connor said with a grin as he reached out and took the key. "I... I got one for you too," he said with a nod towards the coffee table and then leaned over to grab the single shiny key.

"It's... it's yours if... you want" he said as he held it out. He knew what a big step this was and he didn't want Cutter to feel pressured at all.

Cutter smiled at that as he reached out for the key and took it, "I do want it," he assured him, his cheeks starting to go a little red, "thank you Connor," and then he leaned in to give him a kiss.

Connor just smiled and leaned into the kiss, the key still held in his hand tightly, like it was something special he didn't want to lose.

This was nice, really nice.

It was very nice indeed, Cutter wrapped his arms around Connor, his own key in his hand and this felt right as he kept the kiss going. He was looking forward to experiencing the next phase of their relationship and being there with Connor as they took their steps to building their future together.

Well, if you were going to continue the kiss like that.... Connor was just going to return the kiss. And so that was exactly what he did, pulling Cutter close to continue the kiss. He was in absolutely no rush to end this.

Cutter moaned softly as Connor continued the kiss and pulled him in closer. He was in no rush to end this either, funny how that worked out, he was quite content to keep the kiss going.

Well except for when a thing like breathing became a necessity but they could wait a little bit longer on that, couldn't they?

Connor gave a soft moan as he broke the kiss, taking a breath as he reach a gloved hand up to Cutter's face and gently stroked his cheek.

Cutter reluctantly took a moment to breathe and trembled softly as Connor brought the gloves to his cheek and he let out another moan at the feel of the gloves, how nice they were against his skin.

He moved his hand that wasn’t holding the key to Connor’s, placing his hand on his and taking a moment to enjoy the feel of the gloves and being with Connor.

Connor smiled and pulled away just enough to put the key on the table and then went back, shifting slightly so he was sitting with his back against the couch and reaching a hand out to Cutter to pull him closer.

Cutter took the moment to do the same with his key and then was very happy to be pulled closer, taking the moment to lean against Connor and took the moment to enjoy how nice this all was.

"Love you Nick," he said softly as he wrapped an arm around him, the other still gently stroking the side of Cutter's face.

“And I love you Connor, so much,” Cutter smiled warmly as he looked up at him from where he was resting his head on his chest, and enjoying the feel of Connor’s hand stroking his face, “this is …being with you makes me incredibly happy, I’m glad we can be together,”

"This... us... it's perfect. It makes everything... all the bad stuff... makes it all worthwhile." Connor smiled as he kept gently stroking Cutter's face. "All I've ever wanted... is right here... you make me happier than I have ever been... then I ever thought was possible, Nick,"

Cutter’s cheeks flushed at that, he closed his eyes as he enjoyed being so close to Connor, “I’ve never felt anything like this before, this happiness…all of this …I want our future that we’ve talked about, I want to be with you,”

"We can make it... it will be perfect... in its own messed up and crazy way," Connor said with a smile, wrapping his arms around Cutter. "It is going to be amazing."

“We’ll make it work,” Cutter nodded at that, smiling warmly, “all I need is you here with me and we’ll work it out as we go along,” his cheeks reddened even more, “it will be perfect and I’m looking forward to it,”

"Absolutely perfect..." Connor said as he leaned over and kissed Cutter on the side of the neck. "All I need is you... right here... like this."

"Mmmm..." Cutter murmured as he enjoyed the feel of Connor's kisses on his neck, "yes, perfect ... I think after our pasts I'm definitely ready for us to move on with our future ..." he closed his eyes leaned as close to Connor as he could, "we take it one step at a time, we'll both get there,"

Connor trembled slightly at that and smiled against Cutter's hair as he kissed his head softly.

"One step at a time... I'm a loving the one we are on now but... I cant wait to see what the next one holds."

Cutter smiled at that as he leaned against Connor, "same here, I ... I've never gotten to do this, build a relationship I mean, I'm enjoying where we're at and seeing what our future will hold," he added happily.

"And I can't wait... to see what that looks like" Connor said with a warm smile, enjoying how perfect this felt, being right there, with Cutter. "Nothing would make me happier, than making a future... here... with you, Nick."

Cutter's smile widened, his cheeks now bright red, "it sounds wonderful," he agreed happily, "being here with you now, all of our plans ... I'm feeling really positive about our future," he added, "about where we're heading, it feels right ... "

"Very, very right," Connor said with a grin. "I cant wait... to see it all" he added as he shifted slightly and leaned in closer. "I love you, Nick. More than anyone... or anything..." Connor whispered as he kissed Cutter again.

Cutter returned that grin, "same here, I love you Connor, very much ...I'm so happy that you came into my life that day at the university," he said with a twinkle in his eyes as he recalled back to the conversation they had earlier after class, and than he very happily leaned into that kiss.

"Never thought one choice would have had such an impact," Connor said with a fond smile, breaking the kiss for just a moment before going back to it, slipping one hand to the back of Cutters neck.

Cutter murmured happily, "I could never have imagined that this is how my life would turn out but I'm glad it did, you make my life better Connor," and he happily resumed the kissing, moaning softly as Connor's hand went to his neck and he wrapped his arms tightly around Connor in response.

There was something.... something Connor was going to say in reply to that. But all thought and words failed as Cutter pulled him close and kissed him again. There, on the floor, surrounded by boxes and piles of things from the past and dreams of the future, Connor was the happiest he had ever been. Right there, with Cutter, that was all he needed. Connor was happy, he just hoped Cutter knew how happy as he returned the kiss and rubbed his thumb over the nape of his neck.

Cutter knew and understood that as he happily leaned into that kiss, savouring the moment they were sharing … at how much he was enjoying being there with Connor and then he let another moan as Connor moved his thumb over the nape of his neck and he closed his eyes at how much pleasure he was getting from that.

He started to gently rub Connor's back in response.

Connor gave a soft, breathy moan at that touch and he instinctively arched his back into the touch. As he did he felt himself start to slide down the edge of the couch towards the floor, but he didn't break the kiss, he wanted to keep going and never stop.

Cutter was very happy to oblige with that kiss and to keep that contact going as long as possible. He moaned softly, he didn’t want this to end.

He found himself sliding down to the floor at the same time asConnor was, funny how that worked.

One of life's great mysteries truly.

But Connor was beyond satisfied to just run with it...why change a good thing afterall right?

Connor ran a hand up to the back of Cutter's head and pulled him closer.

It truly was, Cutter somehow never broke that kiss, even as Connor pulled him close, he kept his arms wrapped around him as he leaned into the kiss passionately.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, Connor was faintly aware of at least one of the precarious piles of comics and books falling over. And ya know what, that wasn't a big deal. Comics could be re-sorted again. He was busy with much, much better things at the moment.

But even something as extraordinary as kissing Cutter had to come to at least a temporary pause. Stupid lungs and the need to breathe. Connor pulled back slightly and looked up, quite liking the view.

"I can't believe I was such an idiot... to have taken this long... to see the amazing thing that was right in front of me..." he said, gazing up at Cutter with a breathless grin on his face.

Yes the need for breathing was cruel, Cutter became aware of the stack of comics falling over and looked a little sheepish as he he did.

“I know,” he smiled, just as breathlessly, “I spent too long in the past to realise what I had in front of me, that I had an incredible future to look forward to,”

"Well at least we finally woke up and stopped being so blind, huh?" Connor said as he reached up and ran a hand down Cutter's face. "Got lost time to make up for...

Cutter moaned softly at the touch of Connor’s hand on his face , “at least we have plenty of time now to make up for it,” he smiled warmly at that.
